Trading DNA
from your real tradesTrading DNA from your real trades
Import your Robinhood history and the AI learns how you actually trade — your strengths, your leaks, what selling early has cost you — and coaches every answer around it.
See how you really trade
Your brokerage history is the most honest data you have about yourself as an investor. Import it once and the AI keeps it in view when it answers.
- Your real win rate and hold timeshow long you keep winners versus losers, and what selling early has cost you
- Your habits in viewevery check, Deep Dive and advisor run can point out your own leaks
- Your history with each stockask about one you've traded and the AI sees how it went for you
How to get the file
- In Robinhood: Account → Reports and statements → Account activity report → Generate new report.
- Pick the earliest start date you can → Generate report. Robinhood builds it in the background (usually about 2 hours, sometimes up to a day) and notifies you when it's ready.
- Download the CSV and import it here. Re-importing is safe — rows already on file are skipped. Crypto and futures aren't in Robinhood's export; stocks and prediction-market transfers are.

How WhatToTrade works
No black box, no hype. Here's exactly where everything you see comes from — in plain English.
Every hour, our screener runs the numbers on 60+ established stocks and ETFs — price trend, momentum, volume, and how far each sits from its recent high. The strongest setups then go to an AI analyst that reads the latest headlines, vetoes anything with real structural problems, and ranks the rest. Only the top three make the page.
Conviction is how confident the analyst is in a call, from 1 to 99. A 68 means "good setup, real risks" — not a sure thing. If every pick said 95%, the number would mean nothing. Ours don't, on purpose: an honest 65 beats a fake 95.
Every pick gets recorded the day we make it. One week and one month later, we score it against simply buying the S&P 500 — and show the results, wins and losses, right on the picks page. If our picks don't beat the index, you'll see that too. We think that honesty is the whole point.
"Should I buy…?" is the fast answer: verdict, conviction and risk from two years of prices, momentum, seasonality and the latest headlines. A Deep Dive runs on a bigger model and takes the long way round — bull case, bear case, what would change the call, 15 years of seasonality, fundamentals and analyst targets, 30 days of news, and a written plan (entry, sizing, when to add or trim, the price that proves you wrong). Pro members get 10 a month; everyone gets one to try.
Top Picks look for quality names on a controlled dip. Aggressive Picks look for the opposite kind of setup — breakouts, momentum, oversold snap-backs, pullbacks in strong uptrends — across high-beta stocks and leveraged ETFs. They move fast in both directions, so every pick ships with a stop, a target, a trailing stop and a maximum position size. Treat them as trades, not investments, and only with money you can afford to lose. They only show for Pro members whose profile isn't set to "play it safe".
Import your Robinhood activity file (Portfolio → Trading DNA) and we rebuild every round trip: win rate, average win and loss, how long you hold, how often you sell winners early, what you'd have made by holding. The advisor then coaches around your habits — reinforcing what works and giving one concrete counter-rule for each leak. Nothing leaves the server; delete it any time.
Every check now carries 15 years of monthly history — which months a stock tends to rise or fall, and how often — plus what's coming up: earnings, Fed decisions, jobs and inflation reports, options expiration, and sector seasons (refiners into summer driving, retailers into the holidays). Patterns are tendencies, never guarantees; they tell you when to pay attention.
The Portfolio Advisor and "Should I buy…?" answers are built around you: your experience level, risk comfort, goals, and time horizon from the quick questions at signup, and your real trading record if you import it — plus two years of price history, seasonal patterns, and the latest headlines for every stock it looks at. A cautious long-term investor and an aggressive trader get different advice about the same stock, because they should.
